획일적이고 딱딱한 교육환경

​

원효초등학교는 교실에서 급식이 이루어져야 하므로 바퀴가 달린 급식대가 상시 복도에 놓여있다가 점심시간에는 교실로 이동해야 하는 불편함이 있었다. 30년이 지난 교실은 바닥재 등 마감재가 노후되어 바닥을 이용한 놀이수업이 많은 현재의 교육과정에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다. 책걸상도 모둠활동과 이동이 잦은 저학년 과정에 적합하도록 컴팩트하고 가벼운 가구로의 교체가 필요했고 서로 다른 학습 속도를 갖는 아이들의 지도를 위해 교실 내 다양한 기능의 공간이 복합적으로 구성되는 계획이 필요하였다.

Uniformed and standardized educational environment

Wonhyo Elementary School had to be fed in the classroom, so the wheeled meal canteen was placed in the hallway at all times. Classrooms that have been around for thirty years have failed to corespond to the current curriculum, which has many play lessons using floors due to the aging of flooring materials. The bookshelves needed to be replaced with compact and lightweight furniture to fit all the activities and low-grade students who had to move among classes frequently.

디자인 주요 컨셉

​

우리는 주로 평평한 공간에서 2차원적 이동을 하며 생활한다. 아파트가 그렇고, 학교가 그렇다. 입체적이고 다양한 공간은 입체적이고 다양한 사고를 촉진한다. 단단한 경계는 기능공간의 획일적 사용에만 대응하고 변형이 가능한 유연한 공간은 사용자들의 창의적 사용을 이끌어내는 힘을 가지고 있다.  동답초등학교 꿈담 교실은 1학년 4개 교실을 대상으로 우선 마감재와 가구, 기능공간을 보다 쾌적하게 바꾸는 동시에 작지만 입체적인 구조물을 경계공간에 계획하였다. 새로운 공간사용 경험을 통하여 아이들이 보다 유연하고 창의적인 사고를 길러나갈 수 있기를 희망한다.

Main Design Concept

​

We live in two-dimensional movements mainly in flat spaces. So do apartments, and so do schools. Three-dimensional and diverse spaces promote cubical and various thoughts. Solid boundaries correspond only to the uniform use of functional spaces, and flexible spaces that can be transformed have the power to induce creative use of users. Wonhyo  Elementary School's Dream Story Class was designed for four classrooms of first graders to change the finishing materials, furniture, and functional spaces more comfortably, while planning small but three-dimensional structures in the boundary space. We hope that new experiences in using space will help children develop more flexible and creative thinking.
