The project Cheil Worldwide Lobby Renewal was based on the idea of generating interface where the city (people, culture, nature) and Cheil-ers could communicate and interact each other at Itaewon Street. Each individual has their own window to communicate with the society. As the individual windows gather, it creates big picture of Cheil and it becomes the corporate’s identity and message. The frame called ‘Thousand Windows’ consists of LED lighting tiles and it plays diverse displays based on time and seasonal differences. By inserting additional interface layer which is the frame with the lighting, functional spaces are placed at the both sides of the layer and it brings more visual communication through the layers.

Since the existing basement floor was darkly narrow and unorganized program placed the initial idea for this space was to create a ‘Wow space (different world)’. The sunken space with stairs and huge plant boxes removed became a hidden cozy garden apart from the chaotic city. A large space is planned around the Kiosk sells light meal and snack. The lighting designed in gable-shaped like skylight from the roof so that the space gives the feeling of not being in basement level. This is a field where not just for meals but also for light exercises such as yoga, stretching and socializing space like casual meetings or even large annual corporate’s annual events could take place.
