획일적이고 딱딱한 교육환경

동답초등학교는 교실에서 급식이 이루어져야 하므로 바퀴가 달린 급식대가 상시 복도에 놓여있다가 점심시간에는 교실로 이동해야 하는 불편함이 있었다. 30년이 지난 교실은 바닥재 등 마감재가 노후되어 바닥을 이용한 놀이수업이 많은 현재의 교육과정에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다. 책걸상도 모둠활동과 이동이 잦은 저학년 과정에 적합하도록 컴팩트하고 가벼운 가구로의 교체가 필요했고 서로 다른 학습 속도를 갖는 아이들의 지도를 위해 교실 내 다양한 기능의 공간이 복합적으로 구성되는 계획이 필요하였다.

Uniformed and dry education environment

The meal-service in Dongdab elementary school must be made up in the classroom directly. Therefore, it was such an inconvenient during the lunch-time because the portable canteen should be prepared at the ordinary time and to be moved to the classroom when it is needed. Over 30 years, the material and the finishes of the floor are lagged and these classrooms are not coresponding to the current education system which has a lots of playing lectures.

디자인 주요 컨셉

우리는 주로 평평한 공간에서 2차원적 이동을 하며 생활한다. 아파트가 그렇고, 학교가 그렇다. 입체적이고 다양한 공간은 입체적이고 다양한 사고를 촉진한다. 단단한 경계는 기능공간의 획일적 사용에만 대응하고 변형이 가능한 유연한 공간은 사용자들의 창의적 사용을 이끌어내는 힘을 가지고 있다.  동답초등학교 꿈담 교실은 1학년 4개 교실을 대상으로 우선 마감재와 가구, 기능공간을 보다 쾌적하게 바꾸는 동시에 작지만 입체적인 구조물을 경계공간에 계획하였다. 새로운 공간사용 경험을 통하여 아이들이 보다 유연하고 창의적인 사고를 길러나갈 수 있기를 희망한다.

Main Design Concept

 

Most of people are living in two-dimension, flat spaces.The apartments, the schools are so. Stereoscopic and various space accelerate cubical and diverse thoughts. The rigid boundary responds to the uniformed and functional use. And the flexible spaces which can be transformed easily has a power to make the users to use those spaces in a creative way. We have set our first priority in changing those finishes and the funitures in the functional space to be more pleasant, targeted 4 classrooms that the first-grade kids will use, At the same time we have designed some cubical structures in space at the border. We wish our design could raise the flexible and creative thoughts of those kids, experiencing the new space.
